An Evening of Hope 2018

On Thursday, April 26, 2018, Our Hope Association is hosting our third fundraising dinner- An Evening of Hope, at St. George’s Banquet Center (336 La Grave Ave SE Grand Rapids, MI 49503).

We anticipate that An Evening of Hope will be a truly special community event where recovery will be celebrated and the message that there is life beyond addiction will be highlighted, providing hope to those who suffer from addiction and to the friends and family that love them.  An Evening of Hope will also provide Our Hope Association with an opportunity to honor those that have been a part of the organization’s 45-year history providing women with a way up and out from the disease of addiction.

We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker for the evening is Susan Ford Bales on the topic of: Substance Abuse: A Family’s Intervention. Susan is the youngest child and only daughter of former U.S. President Gerald Ford and former First Lady Betty Ford. Susan Ford Bales opens up on her mother’s battle with alcoholism and substance abuse using the experience to promote hope and the possibility of recovery. She calls attention to just how widespread addiction is. Susan Ford Bales delivers powerful messages through personal stories on addiction, cancer, and wellness. The 38th President’s only daughter does not shy away from the realities of dealing with heavy topics; rather she bravely admits her regrets along with the emotional turmoil her family and so many others go through when dealing with challenging conditions that affect humanity across the board. Most importantly though, Susan leaves audience’s hopeful with the knowledge they can take action in tough times and come out of difficult circumstances as stronger and better people. We are confident it will be truly an evening of hope!
